Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026 (version 3)
These Terms of Service govern your use of Rucher Boréal, an apiary management platform. By creating an account, you agree to the terms below.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, signing in, or using Rucher Boréal, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our handling of your data as described here.
You must accept the current version of these terms when you register. The service is intended for beekeepers, apiary managers, and their invited team members.
If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service
Rucher Boréal provides software to manage one or more apiaries: hives, colony inspections, queen records, equipment and honey production, visit planning, photo galleries, and team collaboration.
Optional features may include connected hive sensors and gateways, outdoor reference sensors, weather and foraging forecasts, bloom calendars, and shareable read-only links for your apiary data.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. Some capabilities depend on your subscription tier or connected hardware.
3. Accounts and access
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
Apiary owners and administrators may invite team members with roles such as viewer, editor, admin, or owner. Each member's permissions depend on the role assigned.
We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms, are paused for billing reasons, or are banned for abuse. Trial and subscription status may limit what you can create or edit.
4. Your data
You retain ownership of the apiary data you enter: hive records, inspections, notes, queen information, photos, sensor readings linked to your account, and similar content.
You grant us permission to host, back up, display, and process that data solely to operate and improve the service for you and your team.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for complying with applicable laws when recording colony health, treatments, or production data.
Apiary and gateway GPS coordinates are used only to operate features for you and your team: maps, sun times, weather and foraging forecasts, and related dashboard tools. We do not sell or license your GPS coordinates, apiary records, photos, or account information to third parties for marketing, advertising, or unrelated commercial purposes.
We may disclose limited data to essential service providers that act on our instructions to run the platform—for example cloud hosting, payment processing, weather services that receive coordinates without your account identity, automated image moderation, and integrations you choose to enable such as Google Photos. We do not share your personal information with data brokers.
5. Photos and content moderation
You may upload photos to inspection visits, your profile avatar, and optional feedback attachments. Upload only images that relate to your apiary work and that you have the right to use.
Before storage, images may be automatically analyzed by an adult-content detection service to screen for sexual or pornographic material. Uploads that appear to match restricted categories may be refused. This screening is automated and may produce false positives or false negatives.
If the screening service is temporarily unavailable, uploads may still be accepted. We do not guarantee that all inappropriate content will be detected or blocked.
You must not upload unlawful content, malware, or material that infringes third-party rights. We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this section.
6. Google Photos (optional)
On the web dashboard, you may optionally connect a Google account to import photos into an inspection using Google Photos Picker. This connection is separate from how you sign in to Rucher Boréal.
Connecting Google Photos is entirely your choice. You select which images to import; we do not access your Google library without an action you initiate. OAuth tokens are stored so the import can complete; you may disconnect by revoking access in your Google account settings.
Your use of Google Photos is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for Google's services or for content you choose to import from them.
7. Data import (API and CSV)
In Settings, the Migrations area lets you import apiary registry data from an external API or from CSV exports, and optionally import third-party outdoor sensor readings from CSV. Every import is initiated by you.
You choose the source, target apiary, column mappings, date ranges, and which records to import. We process data according to your selections. You are responsible for verifying mappings and preview results before confirming an import.
You represent that you have the legal right to import the data you provide, including exports from other software or APIs, and that the imported information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Imports may create or update hives, queens, inspections, activities, and sensor records in your account. Review imported data after completion; we are not liable for errors caused by incorrect source files or mappings you approve.
8. Connected hardware
Optional hive nodes and gateways may transmit temperature, humidity, battery, and related telemetry to your dashboard when in range of a configured gateway.
Sensor readings, alerts, weather forecasts, and bloom calendars are informational aids. They do not replace field inspections, veterinary advice, or regulatory record-keeping required in your jurisdiction.
Hardware availability, radio range, and battery life depend on installation and environment. Gaps in data are possible when devices are out of range or offline.
9. Billing and subscriptions
Paid software plans, trials, and optional gateway subscriptions are described on our pricing page and at checkout. Fees, billing cycles, and tier limits (apiaries, hives, photos, nodes) apply as shown when you subscribe.
Payments are processed by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy). Subscription changes, renewals, and cancellations are managed through the customer portal linked from your account settings unless otherwise stated.
When a trial ends or a subscription lapses, your account may become read-only or limited until you renew or upgrade.
10. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free data, or fitness for a particular commercial outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rucher Boréal and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including lost harvests, colony loss, or decisions based on sensor readings, forecasts, or imported data.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred Canadian dollars if you have not paid fees.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The current version is always published at /terms with an updated date.
Material changes will be reflected on that page. New accounts must accept the current version at sign-up. Continued use after an update may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
